Indonesia’s advertising market is projected to reach US$18.9 billion by 2030, with digital channels expected to account for nearly 90% of total advertising spending, putting greater pressure on marketing leaders to demonstrate how their strategies translate into measurable business growth.

Against this backdrop, Marketing + Media Alliance (MMA) Indonesia will hold MMA IMPACT Indonesia 2026 on Thursday, November 5, at The Ritz-Carlton Mega Kuningan in Jakarta. The forum will bring together senior executives, business owners, founders and other decision-makers to examine how marketing can generate measurable and sustainable business value.

The market projections cited by MMA point to sustained growth, with advertising revenue expected to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of more than 8% through 2030. Digital advertising is projected to grow at a 9.4% CAGR, from US$10.7 billion to US$16.8 billion over the period covered by the cited estimates.

The shift is changing the expectations placed on marketing departments. Rather than operating primarily as a communications or support function, marketing is increasingly expected to contribute directly to business growth, customer retention and long-term enterprise value.

MMA IMPACT Indonesia 2026 will address this challenge through 14 sessions under the theme “Advancing Marketers’ Ability to Create Value.” The agenda will explore how businesses can use data intelligence, behavioral science, predictive analytics, creativity and consumer insights to improve marketing decisions and measure their impact.

Greg Stuart, CEO of MMA Global, will deliver the opening keynote, “The Age of Opinion in Marketing Is Ending.” His session will examine how evidence-based decision-making is reshaping marketing leadership, replacing instinct-driven approaches with a deeper understanding of consumer behavior and predictive insights.

“Strong marketing leadership starts with understanding how customers actually behave and using that evidence to anticipate what will drive growth next,” Stuart said.

He added that Indonesian CEOs and chief marketing officers are increasingly incorporating data intelligence and behavioral insights into strategic decisions, creating value that businesses can explain, replicate and scale.

The forum will also feature Irene Umar, Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Creative Economy and Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, as its guest of honor. Her keynote, “The Power of Human Storytelling in a World Hungry for Meaning,” will explore the role of authentic human experiences in building brand meaning and customer loyalty amid the proliferation of algorithmically distributed and AI-generated content.

The discussion highlights a parallel challenge for marketers: while digital technology offers greater opportunities to reach consumers, brands must still establish trust and meaningful connections to sustain engagement over time.

Sutanto Hartono, Chairperson of MMA Indonesia, said marketing leaders must position marketing as a driver of enterprise value while integrating technology, creativity and consumer trust into business decisions.

Meanwhile, Shanti Tolani, Country Head and Board Director of MMA Indonesia, emphasized the importance of translating innovation into stronger consumer relationships and sustainable business growth.

Established in Indonesia in 2018, MMA continues to engage the country's marketing industry through initiatives focused on strengthening marketing effectiveness and leadership capabilities.

As digital advertising takes a larger share of Indonesia’s expanding market, the central question for businesses is no longer simply how much they spend on marketing, but how effectively that investment generates measurable returns and lasting customer value.
