TheIndonesia.co - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued an early warning of a possible tsunami for residents in the provinces of South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and Maluku. The early warning was issued following a 7.5 magnitude earthquake on Tuesday at 10.20 Western Indonesia Standard Time (WIB).
The hypocenter of the earthquake was at 7.59 degrees south latitude and 122.26 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 12 kilometers (km).
Soon after, BMKG released an update. "Tsunami caused by earthquake magnitude 7.4 (113 kilometer Northwest Larantuka, East Nusa Tenggara) has been detected in Marapokot (10.36 Western Indonesian Time)."
