TheIndonesia.co - The police has named six suspects accused of obstructing justice in the murder case of Brigadier J.
The National Police’s cyber crime directorate (Dittipidsiber) announced that six officers had been charged with obstruction of justice in one of Indonesia’s high profile murder cases.
“It is true that Dittipidsiber has named six officers at Polri [National Police] as suspects,” Polri’s spokesperson Insp. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo confirmed on Thursday, September 1, as reported by Antara.
The six individuals are Hendra Kurniawan, Agus Nurpatria, Arif Raman Arifin, Chuck Putranto, Baiqui Wibowo, and Irfan Widyanto.
According to Prasetyo, the investigation into obstruction of justice is being done simultaneously with the police’s ethics trial.
Previously, on August 19, Polri’s director of cyber crime Brig. Gen. Asep Edu Suhari said the six individuals were involved in obstruction of justice in the premeditated murder of Brigadier J.
He said 16 witnesses had been investigated in relation to the deletion, removal, and transmission of CCTV footage from crime scenes.
The police divided the 16 individuals, including the now-suspects officers, into five “clusters” based on their roles.
The first cluster are the residents of Duren Tiga, South Jakarta, and they are SN, M, and AZ.
The second cluster are individuals who allegedly changed the CCTV’s digital voice recorder (DVR), including AF, AKP IW, AKBP AC, and Kompol AL.
Meanwhile, Kompol BW, Kompol CP, and AKBP AR allegedly changed the transmission of and destroyed the CCTV, and are included in the third cluster.
The fourth cluster includes individuals who allegedly ordered the evidence tampering, including Ferdy Sambo, Hendra Kurniawan, and Arif Rahman Arifin.
Lastly, police also investigated AKP DA, AKP RS, AKBP RSS, and Bripka DR as part of the fifth cluster.
