The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment is targeting 149 ports across Indonesia to be green certified by 2024.
TheIndonesia.co - The Indonesian government revealed that 1,600 foreign tourists came to Bali since international flights were re-allowed to the island on February 4.
Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan confirmed that the world-famous tourist destination continues to welcome international travelers while still enforcing the required quarantine rules.
“Since Bali opened for foreign tourists, more than 1,600 of them have come to Bali as of Saturday [February 26],” Pandjaitan said on Sunday, February 27, as reported by Antara.
The figures were dominated by Russian, Australian, French, American, and Dutch, the Coordinating Minister added.
According to him, half of the visiting travelers opted for a “bubble quarantine”, an option in which tourists are still allowed to do various activities outside their hotel room but still within the hotel area.
In addition to that, “non-bubble” quarantine option is also available at hotels in Bali where tourists aren’t allowed to leave their room.
Pandjaitan said the government is preparing to add the number of hotels that offer bubble system to 17 hotels and 41 hotels that will allow general quarantine.
To further support the tourism revival in Bali, he said the Indonesian authorities are working to expand travel bookings through online travel agents, increase the availability of isolation, implement airport pick-up mechanism, and simplify e-visa procedures and regulations.
