TheIndonesia.co - Indonesia showcased the richness of its cultural heritage during the celebration of Indonesia’s National Day at World Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan, held on Tuesday, May 27th.

National Day is a dedicated cultural celebration day hosted by each participating country at the World Expo, symbolizing international friendship and cultural exchange, according to Antara News Agency.

As the main partner supporting the event, Astra shared in a press release that Indonesia’s celebration began with a lively parade. The procession featured iconic Betawi ondel-ondel, the fierce and captivating Reog Ponorogo, and various traditional dances from across the archipelago. The parade moved from the Grand Ring at the Indonesia Pavilion to the National Day Hall, attracting enthusiastic spectators.

The celebration was designed to align with the Indonesia Pavilion’s central theme: “Thriving in Harmony: Nature, Culture, and Future.”

A series of cultural performances took center stage, including pencak silat demonstrations and musical acts by celebrated Indonesian artists such as Endah Laras, Tulus, and Putri Ariani—each blending traditional tones with contemporary flair.

The National Day event was led by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, accompanied by Selvi Gibran Rakabuming, Chairperson of the National Crafts Council (Dekranas).

Deputy Minister of National Development Planning, Febrian Alphyanto Ruddyard, emphasized that this celebration is a crucial moment to introduce Indonesia’s natural beauty, cultural richness, and innovation to the global stage.

“Through cultural performances and educational installations at the pavilion, we aim to show how nature, tradition, and sustainable innovation can grow together,” he explained.

The day concluded with delegations visiting the Japan and Indonesia pavilions, followed by a dinner reception hosted by the Japanese Government and the Bureau International des Expositions 2025 Osaka, Kansai.

Febrian expressed hope that the event would open broader opportunities for collaboration between Indonesia, Japan, and other nations—especially in areas such as clean energy, green infrastructure, digital transformation, and tourism.

Boy Kelana Soebroto, Head of Corporate Affairs at Astra, expressed the company's pride in supporting the Indonesian Pavilion at Expo 2025. He believes the pavilion can serve as a platform to engage with international audiences and promote Indonesian culture and innovation.

“We hope this helps the world better understand Indonesia’s identity—our traditions, values, and the spirit of our people,” Boy said.
