TheIndonesia.co - The Badung Police has arrested a 26-year-old foreigner who went on a rampage in a minimarket in the Mengwi area, Badung, Bali. F (initial name) broke the store's glass entrance door on Monday, December 6, 2021.
He was suspected of being depressed because he ran out of money. F is a dutch who lives in Bali.
"This perpetrator broke a minimarket glass on Sunday at around midnight. Then, the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) brought him to the hospital. He was injured after breaking the glass. After that, the perpetrator's friend came to see him and helped him to coordinate with The Netherland consulate," said the Head of Public Relations Division of the Badung Police, Iptu I Ketut Sudana.
After coordinating with the consulate, F was further treated at Sanglah Hospital, Denpasar, because the hospital is partnered with the Consulate.
The minimarket did not sue F's action with the legal process. The perpetrator's friend, De Goederen Nikolaus, will compensate for the minimarket's damage.
Ketut Sudana said that F was suspected of having depression. He couldn't answer the police questions clearly. He also was not able to tell his identity and his residence.
Previously, a minimarket employee said a foreign tourist came to the minimarket to ask for bread and water. However, the employee asked him to leave because the store was almost closed.
On the next day, December 6, 2021, the employee saw the shattered glass door and blood all over the place. The employee also saw two black bags allegedly belonged to the tourist.
After seeing the situation, the employee immediately called the Mengwi Police.
