TheIndonesia.co - Indonesia's National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) recorded the Indonesian National Police (Polri) as the institution receiving the highest number of alleged human rights violation complaints in 2025, with 805 reports filed throughout the year.

Komnas HAM Chairperson Anis Hidayah announced the figures during the presentation of the commission's 2025 Annual Report in Jakarta on Monday.

"The institution most frequently reported to Komnas HAM in 2025 was the National Police, with 805 complaints," Anis said.

The police were followed by central and regional governments, which accounted for 481 complaints, while corporations ranked third with 479 complaints.

Overall, Komnas HAM received 3,003 complaints of alleged human rights violations in 2025.

The commission also found that the right to welfare was the most frequently reported category of alleged violations, with 955 complaints. This was followed by the right to justice, with 940 complaints, and the right to security, with 285 complaints.

According to Anis, the complaints were submitted not only by individuals but also by communities experiencing collective human rights issues, including disputes over land, environmental degradation, development projects, labor rights, and public services.

She added that Indonesia's human rights challenges have become increasingly complex, making the protection and promotion of human rights essential to achieving democratic, inclusive, and sustainable development.
